Dr. Yu-Ju Chen received her Ph.D. from Iowa State University under Prof. Cheuk-Yiu Ng, studying molecular ion dissociation using photoionization mass spectrometry. After postdoctoral research at National Tsing Hua University, she joined Academia Sinica in 1999 and pioneered the integration of mass spectrometry, nanomaterials, and bioinformatics, transitioning from physical chemistry to biomedical sciences. She established advanced proteomics platforms and core facilities that have strengthened Taiwan’s research capacity. Her research has led to translational applications, including a cancer screening technology approved in Taiwan and recognized with the National Innovation Award. She initiated major interdisciplinary projects, including the Taiwan Cancer Moonshot Project and the Precision Medicine Knowledgebase. Dr. Chen has published over 180 SCI-indexed papers in leading journals, accumulated more than 8,000 citations with an H-index of 57, and holds five patents, three of which have been transferred to industry.
